Range mat
Built tough. Heavier rubber underlayer (15-25mm), denser top fibers, designed for many strikes per minute by many different players. Examples: Cimarron, Fiberbuilt Pro, Wittek.
Simulator mat
Built realistic. Lighter rubber (8-15mm), softer top, more dimensional accuracy so the launch monitor reads correctly. Examples: Fiberbuilt Studio, SkyTrak Premium, Rawhide V2.
What they have in common
The two-layer construction. Both need a tee that sits on top, not in the grass. Better Golf Tee works on both.
